The fifth and final day of World MasterCard Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 in Toronto took place on Friday, October 24th. Ending the night was gown maker Mikael D, whose lovely collection had the whole crowd in amazement.

We are super stoked that fashion week has finally begun in Toronto. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstance arose which made us miss Beaufille, Eliza Faulkner, Blaki.I, Vaiken, Laura Siegel and Sid Neigum shows. It really sucked but things happen. Hopefully nothing else comes up and we will be able to attend other shows within the week. With this being said, even though we couldn't go to the show, we couldn't let that cramp our style. Here's what we wore to dinner and what we would have worn if we went.

I'm not going to lie, this trend wouldn't necessarily be my go to choice on a night out ( I'm a leather jacket and scarf kind of girl on the not so cold nights), but I've decided to give this faux fur thing another try.
I find that styling any kind of vest, fur at that, is so easy to do because you can pretty much put it on top of everything. A collared shirt, t-shirt and jeans, you name it, the fur vest fits the look. Luckily for me, I bought my faux fur vest almost three years ago, only wore it twice, and now its back in style again so I literally just shopped in my closet for FREE! Oh, and in terms of picking what to wear under my fur, I choose things that you would typically catch me in when I'm going out to eat. Depending on the weather, to finish off the look, I would just add my leather coat and put my fur vest on top.

If your still bummed about summer ending, I just have three words for you, GET OVER IT! Your going to miss out on the amazing things fall has to offer, like new lipstick colors. Ultimately, for me, this means more darker and deeper hues of lipstick for A/W. Scroll below to see what I mean.
I'm not one to shy away from a strong lip color; shades like blackberry, raspberry or boysenberry intrigue me.
Till next time.
Today's trend pick is co-ordinates. You can't get a cuter combo than a matching set. As practical as this trend is, it still has the effect to make you stand out in a crowd. Above all, coordinates are extremely versatile; you can get three new outfits in one.
For my looks I chose to co-ordinate with a mini skirt and a sleeveless peplum top. Essentially, I wanted to show you guys how I like to wear my co-ordinates so I get my money's worth. So, for my first outfit, I paired my matching set with some heels and my new chiffon cardigan, to cover my shoulders. However, for my second look, I only styled the top with a pair of jeans and booties to dress down my look a bit. Take a look down below to see what I mean.
Till next time.
Today's trend pick is tailored. I chose the tailored trend because this look involves essential pieces that one should already have in their closet (i.e blazer, dress pants, oxford shirt). My favorite thing about this trend is that it isn't just for fall, it can be worn all year-round. Personally, I think anything that can be worn all year round is a definite must have in your wardrobe.
For my first look, I was going for a tailored outfit that I could wear on a night out with some friends. However, for my second look, I took a more unconventional approach and put together an outfit I could wear casually. Here are my looks below. Tell me what you think!
One of my favourite things about fall, are the warm calming colors the season brings. No season is like the other, and for me, fall stands out the most. I don't know why but, the smell of pumpkin spice in the air and all of the colorful leaves on the ground put me in a calm and mellow mood. When I get into that state I do my best to compliment the season by using its colors to flatter my outfit. However, I don't pay enough attention as I should to my lip color, buuuut it’s a new school year, so I'm turning over a new leaf. Say it with me guys, "Lipstick is the new accessory!!!" With that said, I introduce you to my second go to fall lipstick color for this A/W.
I’ve read somewhere that a chocolate brown lip color is like a more intense version of nude. What do you guys think?
For me this is the perfect color for when I’m trying to go for a natural look but still want a lip color that will be noticed in a subtle way.
Give it a try, if you haven't already. The only thing I would recommend is to use a little bit of concealer on your lips before applying your lipstick. It will make your brown lipstick last longer; you'll thank me later.
Till next time. Alicia
This past weekend, Liz, her friend Chris and I got the chance to check out Nuit Blanche . For those who don't know what Nuit Blanche is, it's an all- night event in heart of our city ( downtown Toronto) that transforms our streets into a museum. With art projects created by hundreds of artists, Nuit balanche is a true testament to how multi-cultural our city really is. I don't want to bore you guys to death lol, so here are the pictures below, they can speak for themselves!
Today's trend pick is Neutral Tones. Before I get into the details of my outfit, can I just say this trend was made for me. If you haven't notice by now I live for neutral colors. The colors cocoa, ivory, taupe, gray, beige and black make up most of my wardrobe, to the point that my mother had to say, " Brown again! No, you have too many brown items already, take that back" LOL it is safe to say that I've over killed this trend a long time ago. Nonetheless, I'm more than happy to share with you guys my look for this years A/W neutral tones trend. On with the show…
If you follow us on social media then it should be no surprise why I chose the color gray for my neutral tones look. On the days that I've exhausted the color black, gray has been my go to alternative. However, the challenge for me with this trend was deciding which one of my gray items to style. Although I could of choose my grey dress or my grey tights, I was more gravitated to my new gray long sleeve/jumper from Oak + Fort. I fell in love with the fit as soon as I tried it on. Its long and loose fitting, which makes it so versatile in my opinion. You can tuck it in, or wear it long. I choose to wear it long for this look and pair it with my denim and a hint of gold.
Til next time. Alicia.
