As soon as we stepped into Troika Boutique, we were absolutely amazed by the room. I mean what girl doesn't like chandeliers, jewelry and dessert! (especially me, I go crazy for food!) Then, just when we thought it couldn't get any better the Dj bust out some old music, 'all night long' by Faith Evans. That really got us going for the night. I couldn't help but sing out loud just to embarrass Liz and Alicia. Although, I'm sure my singing amazed all that were present, Cakelings and L.Drye defiantly out did me lol. Here are a few photos that we took of the event.
This is Crystal! Unfortunately we did not get the chance to meet Crystal's other half Shanice but we did get the chance to chat with the amazing Crystal and inquire about her family company.
Here's some of the questions we were dying to know:
So why cupcakes? "Well when you to go a grocery store or anywhere else you can taste that the cupcakes are process and been on the shelf for days, essential why we wanted to chose cupcake is because we knew how to bake great cupcakes and they are always fresh."
Whats your favorite cupcake ? "OMG so many! Lets see I don't like chocolate but for some reason I love red velvet, it a mixture of a chocolate but a soft chocolate. I also love love the baileys. I normally pair it with a chocolate or vanilla. I find the vanilla complements it more."
Whats your next step? "We would love to have a pop-up shop. We are currently in the process of it looking into how we go about having a store front."
Thank you so much Crystal for answering our questions we hope to see you soon and meet your sister! Check out Cakelings on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cakelingscupcakebar and website coming soon at www.cakelings.ca
This is Lynsey! We also got to snag her away from the party to ask her a few questions.
So Lynsey, we understand that this a family business so why did you decide to branch off into jewelry? "Ive been surrounded by metal all my life. My dad and brother have a metal company. I use play around in the shop and make little metal cups. Then finally, in 2012 I started playing around with beads again I and I loved it! I started out making jewelry for myself and people like it and more people liked it and I figured why not make some sales, make this a career I was lost at the time so it made perfect sense."
Do you have a favourite piece?
" Right now its my hand chain. I changed it up so its not just a hand chain its a necklace and its a foot chain."
Thank you so much Lynsey! It was great meeting and sharing some laughs. Check out Lynsey's pieces on www.facebook.com/ldraye
